Video games have made a huge leap to the screen, and we’re celebrating the genre with a closer look at over 50 video game adaptations into movies and shows. Clive Standen reprises his voice role as Demetrius Titus, the main character of the video game Space Marine 2.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, it is!
Expanding the video game medium with content created by talented fans on an unlimited budget seems amazing, right? The first 8 episodes were great, each one embracing the universe they chose for it. I’ve seen critics say they didn’t take any chances with the show.
Have you seen the Pac Man episode?
Because I did, and it seems like they took a big chance there. The show is amazing, every graphic style seems well chosen and mastered (as we would expect from the Death of Love and Robots team), it bodes well for the future, hopefully allowing the video game medium to expand even further. It’s full of Easter eggs without the annoying show pointing me in the direction where every detail screams at me HAVE YOU PLAYED THE GAME???
And in the world we live in, that’s already incredible
This is the first time that people who truly love this game have taken the chance to expand the medium and please us, the fans. But the beauty is that even for people who have never played the games, they can enjoy the characters, understand them and empathize with them, and that seems like a big challenge they’ve overcome. This show obviously has its downsides, some episodes weren’t as great as others (I’m looking at you New World).

Yes, some episodes were short, yes, some of the jokes were a little off, I never said it was perfect, just that it was amazing.. "One Hundred Years of Solitude" ; is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
